Conjuring at Coutts, the bank of King Charles III
The life of a magician can be an interesting one: you meet an array of different people at various locations around world, in all types of situations. The past weekend will be remembered for generations and perhaps will only be seen once in a lifetime. The crowning of King Charles III was a huge event for many with celebrations, street parties and concerts taking place around the country.
Our West End Magic producer and head conjuror, Oliver Tabor, supplied magical entertainment to an establishment connected with the King: he was hired to provide close-up/mix and mingle magic to the staff of a particularly famous bank located on the Strand in London: Coutts.
This bank has been the financial choice of royalty for generations, establised in 1692 it looks after the financial affairs of notable wealthy individuals and business. Known as the "Queens bank" it has served the monarchy since George IV, who first opened an account
in its Strand headquarters, which is still in the same location today. Oliver provided magic, up close, wandering around guests in the bank's enormous atrium entrance. You might think it slightly ironic that a magician was invited to attend an event in one the country's oldest and most exclusive banks. Thankfully Oliver is trustworthy so the King's estate and finances are still in tact. Thank you to the staff of Coutts who attended the event last Thursday.
God save the King
